At the age 10, Lauren was diagnosed with a very rare and tenacious chordoma tumor on her brainstem. With the spirit of a warrior Lauren taught everyone that knew her that with love, perseverance, courage, and compassion for others you can turn a terrifying experience into something good and make a difference in the world. Due to numerous recurrences Lauren endured repeated surgeries, proton radiation and chemo treatments. At the age of 15 Lauren lost her battle with chordoma. In her final days Lauren wrote, I AM UP TO YOU – and charged her mom and dad, Laurie and Dean, and her older sister, Dana, with continuing her dream of raising money to grant second wishes for children with a recurrence of cancer.

Performing on Saturday are four student groups, including three a capella singing groups; Emotion, Vocalign, Melica, and Phalanx. All attendees will receive a ticket that evening for a chance to win one of several prizes.

For directions or questions, please visit the Elizabethtown College Student Senate website at www.EtownSenate.com or contact Senate’s Publicity & Marketing Chair, Kevin Smith, at 717-361-1223.

The Elizabethtown College Student Senate advocates for student rights on campus and leads the charge to connect the local community with Elizabethtown students.

They’ve lost the majority of the scoring production, but that leaves new opportunities for other guys to step up and contribute. It may take some time for this team to gel together, but the talent is there to have a successful season and achieve the goals they believe they can reach.

I talked to head coach Kevin Dolan about some of those goals and who we can be expecting to step up and lead this team.
