Fairground History Reveals that Agreement Calls for a School to be Constructed on the Grounds.

Elizabethtown Fairground History

The Superintendent of EASD at the time the agreement was made between the School District and the Fairgrounds came forward and would like to make this Fairground history known to all.

In the late 1970’s, an agreement between the school administration and representatives from the Elizabethtown Fair was established outlining the use of the land east of the East High Elementary School.  Both representatives from the Fairgrounds that were involved in the agreement are still alive.    The names of the three gentlemen are being reserved at this time.

The agreement was made so that that the Fair might use the land “only until the school district deems it necessary to use it for a school.  The land the Fair currently uses is owned by the School District, was donated for school use, and it is intended to be used for that purpose.
