Holiday parade just around the corner

Holiday parade just around the corner

The Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce says that the holiday parade “exists to promote a positive, wholesome family activity to welcome in the Holiday Season” and this year’s parade is shaping up to do just that.

The parade will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 at the intersection of College Avenue and S. Market Street.  For a full view of the parade route see the image above; the parade route is in dark blue.

Last year, it is estimated that the parade drew a crowd of more than one-thousand people.  The Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce, which is the organization responsible for planning the parade, hopes the turn out will be the same for this year.

Parade entrants consist of chamber member businesses, other businesses within the area and nonprofit organizations such as marching bands and church groups.  As a treat for the little ones, some entrants hand out candy or other goodies.

If you would like more information about the parade visit the Chamber’s website at www.elizabethtowncoc.com or call the Chamber’s Main Street office at (717) 361-7188.

Please note: The parade snow date is set for Sunday, Dec. 7 beginning at 5 p.m.
